Femi Otedola, a renowned Nigerian billionaire, businessman, and Chairman of First Holdco Ltd, has earned backlash from Nigerians on X for his recent video. 

In the video, Femi Otedola was seen cruising past Marina Bay Sands on a bicycle. Otedola was clad in a simple T-shirt and shorts, riding under clear skies and on clean streets. 

Otedola was criticised for highlighting Singapore’s good infrastructure in his video. While at the same time, he supports President Tinubu amid rising insecurity and decrepit infrastructure.  Critics asked why many billionaires and wealthy people can’t ride bicycles in Lagos without escorts.

Some highlighted the impact of Singapore’s first prime minister, Lee Kuan Yew on the growth of the country. They contrasted it with Nigeria’s elite ruling class, mentioning that greed was why Nigeria is like it is now.  Others also mentioned how the wealthy would go abroad to seek happiness, but they can’t get such happiness in their own country of birth.
